Cafe Nooner specializes in an all 'round quality experience. Through this independent family biz, Tommy and Dimitra support their awesome employees, family farms, youth activities, artists, and feed a bunch of hungry people who care about good flavor and a quality product.
Our staff is professional & sincere AND they have great recommendations for visitors! Our space is cozy inside while our outdoor seating, when not in a Humboldt drizzle, is refreshing and casual.
Your food is made to order at Cafe Nooner; if you feel something is amiss, we'll make it right. We hand prep everything including our soups,dressing, sauces and spreads. Breads are all locally baked, seafood is wild-caught, dairy is local, meats are free-range and/or local. Vegans and Vegetarians, have no fear..all is ethically separated in the kitchen.
We value googd people and good food - we buy top-o-the-line products and value our employees greatly; no one gets paid minimum wage.
History
Established in 2008
This husband and wife team have a long culinary history in Humboldt. Chef Tommy learned cooking apprentice style, first with his mom and grandma followed by cooking for fine establishments in" SLO Town" and Eureka before owning his first two restaurants; the legendary "Vista" in Eureka (1998-2002), and the Afternoon Deli in Grass Valley CA (2004-present). Tommy has always had a fresh food ethic and prefers quality ingredients for health and taste. Manifested in the tasty and eclectic menu, Cafe Nooner is where his Creole and her Mediterranean heritage really came into play. Dimitra is a local girl whos entrance into hospitality began as a part-time job in high school. She has waited and managed at some great mom-n-pop joints as well as "multiple knife and fork" places but prefers welcoming her guests with honest, casual service at her cafe. Taking a smaller role in Cafe Nooner, she is finishing her Masters at HSU while they both raise their lovely teenage daughter, Veda.
